This has to be the best spy drama shown on television!
The dialogue is so good it could have equally been shown as a radio play.
Learning about 'Moscow Rules' and other forms of 'tradecraft', The subtle digs at George - 'How's Ann' etc. Without Ian Richardson as Bill Hayden we may never have had 'House of Cards'.
'Smiley's People' is also a masterpiece! The actors in both are simply amazing and sadly I feel we will not see performers of that calibre and class again. I have the dvd box set for both. It's great television! I know that you are equally fond of Library music. Everytime I see the scene where Smiley visits Claus Kretzschmar's sex club I always imagine that in reality they would be playing KPM and Music Dewolfe on a loop while strippers entertain the clientele!!
