No Hiding Place ran from 1959 to 1967 and was an entertaining British police series which proved to be a training ground for a number of character actors.
Laurie Johnson's theme tune is typical of many from that era - booming, rolling drums and a easy melody.
The end-credits sequence for "N.H.P." was quite lengthy,if I remember correctly,and such timing wouldn't be allowed today: the background to the credits was a Holmesian magnifying-glass under which were changing pages of a street-plan.The theme-tune was quite memorable (as were Raymond Francis's fluffed lines): I can recall it after 50 years.
